10:42 pm - Je Suis un Robot.
Man.......work is Killing me! I leave the office everyday as if someone has beaten the shit out of me. I feel like a robot as I wake at the same time, catch the same train, enter the office and stay there for around 10 hours a day....What gives!

And while im bitching, I hate catching the train to and from work. Its an hour of my day wasted. Its so freakin broing and at the moment HOT. None of the trains on my line seem to be air-con. Plus there is never anyone good looking on it.

Next week I start training for dragon boating again. Im on my company team and we have some competitions coming up. Our aim is to beat Macquarie bank this year. Im gonna use all the events to network (damnit I turned corporate).

Man I got to break free! Im thinking of taking a long weekend and heading back to Singapore maybe.....its been a while since I went back. I want to catch up with some of my old friends there....hang out at Starbucks on Orchard Road like old times. Been actually toying with the idea of even trying to look for work and move back there. However, I know it wont be the same as when I was living there before.

On a brighter note, Valentines day is approaching. This year I am actually going to surprise Eric with an Ipod to replace the mini one I bought him last year for his bday (which is broken). Im getting him the cool looking 60gb which can also play video. Its the first gift im buying him in a long time which he has ABSALOUTELY NO IDEA ABOUT HAHAHAHAHA! But its killing me keeping it a secret. Come on Valentines day!!!!

The weather is soooooooooooooooo nice! Man I spent all weekend at the beach....beautiful. Today though I ventured to another beach I have never been to, Clontarf. Its nice, but nothing on Bondi. I got a fantastic tan and im not burnt either thanks to my new best friend Ambre Solair 30+ extra strength sun lotion.

Now to go to work tomorrow.....burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!~

10:34 pm
Well, first entry for 2006! Yes, 19 days into the new year but who is counting! So far, the year has had mixed reactions from me. It started off at a lousy party....people were actually falling asleep! It gave me delight to kick them awake at midnite haha! Anyways I then locked my keys in my car on the 3rd and had to pay a fortune for someone to come out and open my car up for me.

On a positive note, I got a big promotion at work. So while my client base has shrunk, my funds under management have increased. So far its pretty stressful and daunting.....but with time im sure I will make a success of it.

One sad piece of news is that my brother has left Australia. Seeing as he graduated and his visa was going to expire and he had no plans to apply for PR, he just....well.....left! He was going to the states first to try for work, but if he cant find it, he will go back to Chile from there. What was suspose to be a teary farewell at the airport turned out to be just a quick goodbye as he had a morning flight and we both went out all nite. Once we got home we (Accidently) fell asleep.....thank god one of his friends called him and we woke up and rushed out. We were both so tired and in bad moods.....and in a hell of a rush. But he made it and from the email he sent, is enjoying catching up with old friends and even went back to visit some of his previous lecturers.

Here is another foto from my trip, though it was so long ago, but it brings back nice memories.....I love Paris!

10:53 am - Back
Im back in Sydney, been back for about a week maybe. To be honest, im feeling a bit lost. Looks like I have returned to the state of mind I was in when I first arrived, being that I hate living here and just want to get the hell out of Sydney (and Australia) for good.

The trip.......man there is so much I could write. The memories I will keep forever! But as I cant really be bothered to write everything because it would take forever, here are some things that really stuck with me.

- I really dont like Japan. As it was my 7th time there, I think I dislike it a little bit more everytime I go.

- Japanese guys are totally wierd. The straight ones look gay and the gay ones look creepy.

- Paris is totally beautiful. It is definetly the most beautiful city in the world. My most favourite thing to do while I was there was to get an espresso, sit outside the cafe, have a cigirette and watch the world go by.

- French men are INCREDIBLY hot (well all Europeans for that matter).

- Everyone thought I was French. This included the flight attendants on the way there, the passengers and everyone in Paris. Everyday at least 7 people would ask me for directions or talk to me about something I didnt know. This is probably because I look rude!

- San Francisco weather is much nicer this time of year then I expected.

- Food in the states is sooooooo damn good.

- The Castro in SF is a really nice place to hang out. It is not as sleazy as Oxford Street and the guys are really nice, friendly and cute!

- Temuco SUX!

- Santiago is changing at a rapid pace! Bulidings and express ways are going up everywhere. It is much cleaner, but the smog still remains.

- Shopping in Chile is still the best! I bought soooooooo much.

10:21 pm - Quickie update
MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN The last few weeks have been a total fly by. Ive been working crazy hours at work and have turned into a workaholic. Now im working overtime to finish all my stuff before I leave for my big round the world trip!! I leave this Thursday and its been pretty hectic trying to finish everything off etc.

On a quick note, I graduated last Friday. My parents came to Aust to see the ceremony. I was pretty bored through out the whole thing to be honest. All I wanted to do was to have the whole thing over. My parents enjoyed it at least and they said it was the best graduation they have been to ever! It was only late at nite when I got home and looked at the city in the distance that it dawned on me "ive graduated!". Nice finish to the day.

This will be the last time that I write before I set off. Will update details when I get back in a month. Take care!

08:30 pm - Catch up
Yikes another week! Things are starting to get a bit repetative.

This weekend has been a bit of blast from the past. I used it to meet up with a lot of friends with whom I have not seen over the past couple of months. It was defenetly very refreshing. I guess I did it for 2 reasons, #1 Eric is not around and I use to spend the majority of my weekends with him, or waiting for him to finish work and #2 my graduation ceremony is in 2 weeks so ive been in contact with everyone from uni planning about it.

On Friday, I hit Goodbar. Man bought back so many memories....but we were a bit dissapointed with the music and the crowd (Soooooooo skanky!) one girl was so fat and looked disgusting but still managed to fit into clothes that were 10 sizes too small for her. She looked like she was wearing underwear with a belt! Most girls looked the same. Maybe im too old or too conservative. In the group I was with, the girls thought they were 'overdressed' however I pointed out to them that if they did not want to pick up or look like a hooker, then they were suitably dressed so it was all good. One interesting thing was that they played raga music (known as regaton I think) and it was like being on the set of Mekano! I gotta say, when it comes to hip hop, I dance like a girl rather then a guy.

After recovering on Sat morning, I met up with a friend to have a swim in their pool in order to lose some weight before hitting pancakes on the rocks to meet up with more uni friends. It was nice, however for most of these peopele (bar two) I was not really close to them so it was more along the lines of "hi how are you, fine blah blah blah". Eventually the two I was closet to were able to break away we were able to catch up more which was nice as I kinda felt distance from one of these friends recently so it was a chance to connect. I left the city around 2am to witness a pretty serious accident on the link road (freakin P drivers in their hotted up cars) and arrived home to invitations to go to Le Panic in Kings Cross but as I just drove home.......

Today I went to the city with a my best friend from undergrad as they want me to get them a watch duty free. In the end, we ended up hanging around the Crown street district checking out cheap sunglasses and 2nd hand clothing stores.....really pleasant.

Now its back to the bitchy atmosphere of the office where I will practically live for the week.

10:08 pm - Idolo Australiano
Wow, the last Australian Idol I watched with Eric this evening. Its kinda become a ritual for us to meet up and watch Idol on the Sunday nite. Eric absaloutely loves the program and I gotta say I get a kick out of him getting all excited (and me teasing his favourite singers hehe!). He really likes Anne. She is really good I think.

The theme tonite kinda sux. I didnt feel the majority sung so well and Im not totally into rock BUT DIOS MIO!!!!! EMILY SUNG SOOOOOOOOOO GOD MAN WELL!!!! I will even admit there were tears in my eyes, and I dont even know why! Must be her voice touch something in my heart.

And I hate Mark Holden and Kyle.

10:32 pm - Solito
Everyone has left!! Except one person.........

The past couple of weeks have been pretty tough as I have said goodbye to a total of 11 friends who have all moved overseas. They are all bound for such countries as The US, England, Scotland, Norway, Singapore, South Africa, Chile and Peru. The most recent one left for San Francisco this evening "to follow his dreams" (or dick I say) ANYWAYS its wierd because when I know someone is leaving, I kinda switch off from them, kinda like severing ties so when they go I know it wont hurt as much. In the end its wasted cause at the airport im all emotional and such.

The most important #12 person leaves to live in Paris next Tuesday - Eric. So I am really trying to spend a lot of time with him at the moment, and not be like I have been with my other friends. It hasnt really sunk in that he is leaving, and he is always asking me if I will miss him and im like "NO!" joking, but today on the train I really thought about it......and I will.

I dont think it will hit me yet because I will see him in November when I visit Paris to stay with him, but after that........I gotta wait and see.

06:02 pm - The SUNDAY nite @ Arq
As per last post, I went to Arq last nite. After partying all day yesterday and not having anything suitable to wear, I didnt feel like going so much, but still made it out. Well Arq hadnt changed much (keeping in mind that I have not been there for like 3 years) in terms of decor, and the laser/light show is still pretty neat, however the crowd......my god! When me and my friend arrived before 12 so we could get the $5 special, it was still pretty empty. The only people who seemed to be there were 18 year olds who were ALL making out. We figured it was because they prob didnt have anyother places to make out as it is dificult if your mom or someone is going to walk in on you at home. But by 12:30 it was pretty full. Now my friend and I had these memories of our Sunday nite clubbing sessions at Arq 3 years ago as being really fun, with lots of cute, shirtless muscular guys dancing around and everyone being pretty much friendly and all kind of dancing together. WELL, that doesnt seem to exist anymore. Everyone was so bitchy and the guys that did take their shirts off, they were either a) too thin and b) NOT muscular. Everyone seemed to have attitude, climaxing when my friend was shoved off the dance floor and I was told to "fuck off" from the basin in the bathroom while trying to wash my hands for no particular reason (or none that I could see at least). Still the music was good and we were getting into it, when this group of teenage girls called "Slinkee Minx" came on which neither of us knew. Apparantly they were bringing out some new single today which they "decided" to share with us. Honestly, the singing was average, but I gave them points for trying (and staying out late on a school nite!!). While I didnt appreciate it, I kept it to myself, but these guys behind us were shouting things like "fuck off" and "you suck" ~ totally not necessary, but can I prove anymore the amount of attitude that was there last nite?! Unfortunately the nite went down from there, Slinkee Minx killed our mood (a drag show would have been much better). We kept dancing and there were a few really cool songs. But what was wierd was that, guys would show some interest in either one of us like smiling or coming up to dance, BUT as soon as we reciprocated smiling back, they would just turn straight off and leave. Im still trying to figure out why....I guess its all got to do with the attitude.

Anyways, I know I wont (and cant) rush back to Arq on Sunday nite anytime soon, but at least I have something to tell people at work tomorrow.

07:58 pm - Feliz Fiestas Patrias
A los Chilenos *Feliz Fiests Patrias!*

Today was Chilean national day. Me, my bro and two friends threw a party to celebrate and we were going to have food, music and lots of Pisco and Chicha (Chilean Alcahol). All the chileans we knew were coming which came to about 27 (I think). My job was to supply Pisco, and make alfajores (the only thing I can actually make). Its like a candy.....its got 2 biscuits with a lot of manjar (like caramel) in the middle. When I was making them, I kinda ate a heap of the manjar....but in the end I think they turned out OK.

The party was going to start at 2pm, but before we all got into a fight as to what music would be playing. I was opting for Chilean hip hop (Tiro de Gracia y Makiza REPRESENT!), Juan was all for cumbia (brrrrrrrrr) Maria wanted foclorico (zzzzzzzzz) while Jon wanted rock (Chancho en Piedra y Machuca which you cant dance too), so in the end we all came to an agreement to mix the music up.

The party was cool and everything seemed to be a success, until some fool wanted to make everyone dance they cueca (national dance) and for some reason everyone wanted ME to start off! To make matters worst, I had to dance it with this really fat girl! Man I kept bumping into her and everyone was laughing. The same thing happened last year at a party so I think im some kind of a legend as when it as announced we that there was gonna be cueca, everyone was saying "wheres Aleks?" They just wanted to see me make a fool of myself and im hopeless at dancing the cueca too.....

Anyways, the party was A BLAST!!!!! And I ate sooooooooo many empanadas, I can barely move goddamnit. Which is not sooo good because tonite im going to Arq as I got the day off from work tomorrow for working so hard!

All in all, a cool party and a rockin weekend.

11:20 am - Viaje!
Sorry for the lamo effort in updating, but I DO have an excuse. Internet is not at my house yet and my comp is still in a box.....somewhere......im going to get cable internet eventually but now I have to rely on going to friend's houses to update. Also I refuse to update at work because it gets me into too much trouble!!

Anyways, I got good news yesterday......I have leave approved for October/November from work to take a trip around the world!!!! Some background on this is that Eric is being sent to Paris for work in November and suggested I go and stay with him. Also, my parents said that once I graduated, they would buy me around the world ticket as a gift (providing I go and visit them in Chils). So therefore, im off!!!!

The plan for the trip is Japan - France (I will go to Spain for a couple of days as well to visit a cousin) - United states (San Fran and New York) - Chile (including freakin Temuco) - Sydney. I was going to go back to Singapore at first for my Asia stopover as I have not been there since 02' but due to lack of enthusiasm from friends there when I told them I was comming kinda held me back. My best friend from highschool now lives in Tokyo and was like "COME VISIT ME INSTEAD OF GOING TO SINGAPORE!!" also as I have a cousin living in Setagaya-Ku, I choose Japan instead.

Im really saving now......I wana take like $10K with me and just blow it. I wana replace my wardrobe with A+F (casual) from the states and Zara (corporate) from Chile. This trip is going to be my yearly shopping hehehe! Estoy en Kamino baby!

10:34 pm - Im Back!
Well as per the subject - IM BACK! Ive been busy, and kinda putting off writing here (also lack of internet connection in my house) but feel that I shouldnt let this thing die. So let me give a quick rundown.

Basically my life has been through a series of changes in the last couple of months. All good and its been pretty exciting. Just to mention a couple of things.

-I GRADUATED!!!! I still cant believe it but after 6 years of studying I am finally done. Even though it was a really dificult semester, I managed to score 3 distinctions and a credit! I must say its pretty wierd not studying anymore.

-I went back to my old job ~ I had to leave to finish the degree, however they called me before my last exam to come in for an interview and it was to ask me back to work and tell me they should never have let me go! The terms I returned on were more favourable which was good, and it looks like I might be moving into another role shortly. However, im working pretty crazy hours at the moment, but having money again overides any fatigue.

-I moved! My parents bought me a house and its situated right in the suburbs, like north west Sydney. Its really wierd living in the suburbs (and a little boring!) but im renovating the house (which is hell!!!!) but at least its a project to work on. It takes me an hour to get to work on the train so I have to wake up really early, yuks!

All three things have had an impact on my life pretty dramatically. I now move in different circles basically and am having fun. The next couple of months will also be pretty crucial and there are a couple of things that MIGHT happen, but I dont want to mention anything now and jinx it!

Oh, Eric and I are still together and growing strong, though we did go througha REALLY rough time for a while there.

Well there is my update. More to come!

05:04 pm - Schapelle Mania
I, like the majority of the Australian population have been interested in the Schapelle Corby case. Im not sure exactly where my interest has stemmed from....but anyway, she was sentanced today to 20 years in prison. Im not so surprised by the sentance and think its wierd that the majority of people thought she would be found innocent and be able to leave the jail. Even if she was found innocent, there would still be a plea for her to be found guilty anyway. The case is not so clear cut people!

Before, I use to think she was innocent. I think about 92% of Australia thinks she is aswell. But Im not so sure now. I know for sure that the Bali 9 are guilty and should all receive HARSH sentances. I must say though, throughout footage of the trial for Schapelle, I think her interpreter is REALLY beautiful. I look at her more then Schapelle!

Now back to my mergers + acquisitions assignment!

10:23 pm - Amigos para siempre.....
Corny sounding subject line.....I know, but it is related!

Now mid semester exams are out of the way, im a bit more relaxed(even though I have huge reports to do still) BUT I am able to catch up with friends I hadnt seen while I was concentrating on studying. Last nite I was able to go out with Edwin and Quatra. Quatra's mom and sister were here from the US as Quatra graduated last Friday, so we took them to dinner in lovely King Street Wharf. They are sooooo nice and funny. The evening was so much fun too. It dawned on me that with Quatra, Edwin and Joc (who couldnt make it), no matter how much time we spend together or apart, we ALWAYS have a damn good time. Spending four days non stop together while we were in Fiji, or after months of not seeing eachother at all, its ALL good. Its like we are all on the same wavelength. We all come from different countries, backgrounds, degrees (but same uni) and upbringing and pretty much have nothing in common, yet we still always get on and have things to talk about. We laugh so hard at all the jokes we make too hehehe! Soon, we are all departing for different parts of the globe (As we are now graduates hehe!) Edwin to London in September, Joc to Cape Town in November, Quatra to San Francisco in August and me to Santiago in July. Even though we are all leaving, I know our friendship will always last. Sometime in like 20 years, we will all meet and be the same, like no time has ever passed. I just know it!

I dont have many friends in Australia, but im so happy I have had these guys while ive been here. I would never have got through my time without them.

Those type of friends are the best to have......
